Singer mugged in Joannesburg

Singer-songwriter mugged at knife point in Johannesburg

Glenn Perry well known singer-songwriter got mugged at knife point by 6 thugs in Johannesburg last week, in broad daylight at 9 am. When Perry arrived Johannesburg airport, he asked a decent looking taxi driver dressed in a suit and tie to take him to a good decent hotel in a safe area. But the wicked taxi driver dropped Perry off in a remote place, where he was abducted by 6 thugs who robbed him of all his money and personal belongings. Perry somehow managed to defend himself and escape.

Perry advises that if you plan to visit Johannesburg, make sure to make your accommodation and transportation arrangements before you board the flight to Johannesburg.
Bear in mind that at the Johannesburg airport there are many illegal taxi drivers dressed up in a suit and tie. Beware of them. Contact the airport security before taking a taxi.
Also be very careful when travelling anywhere in Johannesburg. Never venture out on your own, especially after sunset. Nowhere is safe during the day or night.
Even in Cape Town and Durban there is crime.

South Africa is a very beautiful place to visit. Sadly the crime is rampant. It has one of the highest crime rates in the world.
